Michael Porter

Michael Porter is a seasoned professional in the insurance and reinsurance industry with extensive experience in business development and leadership roles. Currently serving as Managing Director and Head of Business Development at Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated since January 2012, Michael previously held significant positions including Head of Individual Life Business at Munich Re (Group) from October 2006 to December 2011, and Head of Finance and Operations at NestLife Assurance from November 2003 to September 2006. Michael's entrepreneurial spirit is highlighted by co-founding Renaissance Risk Management and Pinnafrica Life and Insurance, where roles included Co-Founder and Co-Owner and Head of Actuarial, respectively. Michael is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand, earned between 1995 and 1998.
