Salil Rao

Salil Rao is an accomplished Executive Director at Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated, with a career spanning over 18 years in the technology and research sectors. Previously, Salil held multiple key positions at Monsanto Company, including R&D Service Manager, where significant achievements included co-founding the Seedstarter initiative for real-time plant disease identification using deep learning. Salil's contributions at Monsanto extended to leading various IT and R&D projects, establishing foundational processes for a new global IT service organization, and managing complex infrastructure projects that significantly reduced downtime. Salil earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics from the National Institute of Engineering and an MBA in Supply Chain and MIS from North Carolina State University.
