Andre Dreyer

Andre Dreyer has a diverse work experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, spanning over two decades. Andre started their career at Medscheme Life in 2001 as a Director and Head of Actuarial. Andre then moved on to RGA as a Business Development Actuary in 2005 before joining RGA Reinsurance Company of South Africa as a Director from 2005 to 2010. In 2010, they joined RGA Reinsurance Company of Australia as a VP Business Development, where they were responsible for the growth and active management of the client portfolio, as well as overseeing the pricing function. Andre held this role until 2014, after which they took on various senior roles at Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated and its subsidiary RGAX. These roles included Head of EMEA Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, Vice President of Alternative Business Models, and Director of Investment Solutions (EMEA). In 2017, Andre also became a Non-Executive Director at Inclusivity Solutions. Most recently, in 2021, they returned to Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated as the Director of RGA Ventures.

Andre Dreyer's education history begins with their completion of a High School Certificate at Hoërskool Roodepoort from 1988 to 1992. Following this, they attended the University of Johannesburg from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Actuarial Science. In 1996, they pursued further studies at the University of the Witwatersrand and earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Honors in Actuarial Science. From 1997 to 2005, Andre pursued a Fellowship at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. In recent years, they engaged in Executive Education at INSEAD, specializing in Corporate Venturing and Innovation, concluding in 2021.
