RGIPT is an “Institution of National Importance”, established through an Act of Parliament by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India. Institute is co-promoted by leading Oil & Gas PSUs of India along with OIDB to cater to the growing needs of oil, gas and energy industries. RGIPT main campus is located at Jais, Amethi, Uttar Pradesh and offering Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral programmes from there. Its Assam Energy Institute, Sivasagar and Energy Institute Bengaluru centers offering Diploma and M.Tech. & Ph.D. programmes respectively.
