RheumAcademy is Canada's dedicated rheumatology education platform for allied health professionals. We deliver rigorous, evidence-based training to physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and physician assistants working across community and hospital settings.
Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases affect more than 6 million Canadians, yet most allied health professionals enter practice with minimal formal training in rheumatology. RheumAcademy was founded to close that gap — building clinical capacity, standardizing high-quality care, and equipping the next generation of allied health clinicians to work confidently alongside rheumatologists in specialty and community settings.
Our flagship offerings include:
• Rheumatology Bootcamp 101 — an intensive 4-day hybrid course covering assessment and management of inflammatory and mechanical arthritis, connective tissue disease, pharmacotherapy (DMARDs and biologics), joint count methodology, GALS screening, spondyloarthritis metrology, outcome measures, and case-based clinical reasoning.
• Clinical masterclasses — focused deep-dives on topics including nailfold capillaroscopy, MSK point-of-care ultrasound, exercise prescription, women's health in rheumatic disease, and advanced practice models of care.
• Bootcamp for Industry — tailored training programs for pharmaceutical and medical device partners working in the rheumatology space.
Faculty are practising advanced practice clinicians and rheumatologists with deep experience across inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disease, osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis care. Courses are designed to minimize impact on clinical operations and deliver directly applicable skills from day one.
