Gareth Marshall

Gareth Marshall has over 20 years of work experience in the software industry. Gareth is currently working as a Product Security Lead at RIB Software since November 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Principal Product Engineer at RIB Software, where they played a key role in the development team for the CostX estimation product. Gareth was responsible for technical leadership, implementation of new product modules, and resolving technical challenges. Gareth also has extensive experience at Exactal, where they worked as a Principal Product Engineer from October 2013 to June 2020, a Senior Product Engineer from June 2007 to October 2013, and a Product Engineer from October 2004 to May 2007. Before Exactal, they worked at Evalunet Pty Ltd as a Programmer from December 2001 to July 2004, where they designed, developed, tested, and supported educational software. Gareth also possessed skills in developing user interfaces and maintaining office Linux servers.

Gareth Marshall earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, completing their studies from 1998 to 2001. Gareth has obtained several additional certifications in 2023, including the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge v.4 from the Cloud Security Alliance, LFD121: Developing Secure Software from The Linux Foundation, GIAC Advisory Board from GIAC Certifications, and GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC) from GIAC Certifications.
