Michael Murray has had a distinguished career in the telecommunications industry. Michael currently holds the position of Director of Software Development at Ribbon Communications since October 2017. Prior to this, they worked at GENBAND from May 2010 onwards, where they served as the Director of Rural Softswitch and Custom R&D. In this role, they were responsible for the Rural Market Portfolio, Systems Engineering for Multimedia and Switching Portfolio, and the Custom Development Team. Murray achieved significant accomplishments during their tenure at GENBAND, including increasing C15 deployments by 250 systems over a two-year period and delivering $6 million in Cost of Sales Revenue annually across Carrier and Enterprise Customer Base.
Before joining GENBAND, Murray worked at Nortel Networks, starting in 1999. Their roles at Nortel included Director, Systems Engineering Director, and VOIP and Systems Engineering Director. As the Systems Engineering Director, they led a global team of 70 members, delivering 8 major releases over 5 solutions in 12 months. Michael also implemented Service Level Agreements to ensure the reliability and availability of Nortel and third-party integrations.

Michael Murray has a strong educational background with degrees in mathematics, computer science, and business. Michael started their academic journey at Siena College from 1980 to 1984, where they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, obtaining their Master's Degree in Mathematics from 1984 to 1987. Later, they enrolled at Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, completing their MBA in 1997 with a focus on Business.
