Eric Eager joined the RISD board in September 2020 as the trustee for At Large Place 6, succeeding Justin Bono, whose term expired.
Eager attended Bowie Elementary for a few years, and he holds a bachelor’s in accounting and a master’s in taxation from the University of North Texas. He met his wife, Brenna, soon after graduating from UNT, and they couldn’t wait to move back to Richardson to raise their family.
Their twin sons are part of the Richardson High School Class of 2021.
Eager sat on the RISD strategic planning committee, helping craft the district’s five-year plan, and was a part of the most recent facilities planning committee, as well. Eager also is a graduate of Leadership Richardson and sits on the executive board of the Richardson ISD Foundation.
He also was the co-chair of Vote4RISD, which advocated for the passage of the tax ratification election in 2019 that led to an estimated $24 million a year of additional funds for teacher raises and other district needs.

Eager was part owner and helped build an international software company that was recognized multiple years in a row by “Inc.” magazine as being one of the fastest growing companies in America before being acquired. He is currently co-founder and chief executive of 4 Impact Data, which believes “every organization should have affordable access to impactful data.”
In his free time, Eager enjoys traveling, sports, music and telling bad dad jokes – feel free to ask him for a groaner next time you see him.
