Software Engineer at Ridecell

Paul Wicks has over 30 years of work experience in the software engineering and consulting fields. paul began their career in 1986 as an Advanced Systems Engineer at EDS, where they were a manager for projects in Cadillac Engineering, a systems engineer and a system administrator for the Sun OS, and the first technical lead for the development of the software for OnStar. In 1999, they became a Technical Architect at USinternetworking, where they were responsible for software development and applications hosting for clients in the United States and Europe. paul also served as a Technical Architect at US Internetworking Inc, Annapolis, MD, where they directed the systems engineering teams in the central and western United States. In 2004, they became the CTO of PrivateTel and Technical Architect of Dabble, where they shepherded a Web application from inception as a community site through it's entire life cycle as a tool for modern entertainment. paul also provided advice, support, and services to the non-profit, business, professional, and entertainment sectors as a Consultant at Paul Wicks Consulting from 2009 to 2014. From 2010 to 2017, they served as a Consultant at DigitalOcean, where they led the effort to make-over the website, creating a space that allowed scientists and ocean activists to share what they know, and to be known. paul concluded their work experience in 2017 as a Software Engineer at Ridecell.

Paul Wicks attended the Center for Creative Studies from 1978 to 1982, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Design.
