Martin Fortmann

Martin Fortmann has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Martin began their career as a Systems Analyst at Nomura International, where they provided development support for Sybase, C, and Java sub-systems. Martin also managed the development, testing, and production environments.

Following their time at Nomura International, Martin worked as a Contractor at NBS Bank. During this period, they undertook contracting roles before moving on to Kingfisher, where they served as an IT Manager and Developer for Kingfisher Sourcing Africa. In this role, they managed the IT department, oversaw various systems and applications, and developed both .Net and PHP solutions.

Martin then joined Bond Choice as a Project Leader, responsible for leading projects for a specific duration. Following this, they worked at Epiq Systems as a Senior .Net Developer, where they designed, developed, and tested Microsoft .Net based applications.

Later, Martin worked at Speedwell eBusiness Solutions Pty Ltd as a Developer/Team Lead, where they assumed team leadership and project management responsibilities, in addition to being a senior developer.

Prior to their current role, Martin worked as a Sole Proprietor, operating under their own name. During this time, they worked on a complex ASP.Net MVC eCommerce application for a startup. Martin completed and extended the initial project, focusing on upgrading the system to the latest web technologies and deploying it on Amazon Web Services.

Currently, Martin is a Senior Software Engineer at RightCrowd Software. Martin is a senior developer in the core team, responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the company's core product suite, which consists of ASP. Net C# web applications and Windows services connecting to a SQL Server database. Additionally, they assist the custom solutions team with client customizations and extensions.

Overall, Martin Fortmann has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in software development, team leadership, project management, system architecture, and deployment throughout their career.

Martin Fortmann attended Carter High School from 1988 to 1991, where they obtained their Senior Certificate. During their time at Carter High School, they studied English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Physical Science, Accountancy, and Technical Drawing.

From 1993 to 1995, Martin pursued higher education at Durban University of Technology. During this period, they earned a degree in Information Technology with a focus on Information Systems and Development Software.

In addition to their formal education, Martin also obtained a certification in TS: Microsoft .NET Framework - Application Development Foundation from Microsoft in March 2011.
