Peter Hanson

Peter Hanson has worked in the technology industry since 1990. Peter began their career at EDS as a Systems Engineer, where they developed subsystems of a large General Motors work flow management tool, implemented with Smalltalk and Oracle. Peter then moved to ObjectFX, where they worked as a Professional Services Consultant and Senior Professional Services Consultant, designing and developing geographic mapping applications and other location-based software using Java and the SpatialFX geographic mapping toolkit. After that, they worked at Criterion Systems as a Sr. Software Engineer, administering a set of SOA-based applications in a clustered, high-availability WebLogic environment for the U. S. Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM). Peter then moved to Kompsys as a Systems Engineer/Architect, supporting the USMEPCOM during a period of extensive IT transformation. Next, they worked at RightDirection Technology Solutions, LLC as a Program Manager, Java Web Application Developer, managing multiple, simultaneous engagements with the government consisting of technical sustainment and new system design and development efforts. Most recently, they worked at VAIL Technologies as a Senior Application Developer, where they were a system subject matter expert and assisted in developing system architecture documentation, as well as developing a strategic plan for migrating on-prem applications to the cloud. In 2021, they returned to RightDirection Technology Solutions, LLC as their Chief Technology Officer.

Peter Hanson received their B.A. in Engineering Physics and Computer Science from Augustana University (SD) between 1984 and 1989. Peter has also obtained certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) for AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate in May 2022, Project Management Institute for PMP in June 2018, (ISC)² for Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in June 2011, and Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer.
