Combinations of wireless components are placed on the rig to determine equipment position. This includes the racking board, stabbing board, automated roughnecks and additional pipe handling equipment. An interlock with the rig brakes is then established. When alarms are triggered the travelling blocks are either slowed or stopped. Solutions are designed on a rig specific basis.
