Stelios Modes has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Stelios is currently working as the CTO & Founder at Rillet since September 2021. Previously, they spent six years at ThoughtWorks as a Lead Software Engineer, where they led multiple cross-functional teams in delivering successful products across various industries. Before joining ThoughtWorks, Stelios worked as a Software Engineer at Shazam from January 2014 to July 2015. Stelios was responsible for server system design and development in Java for a high-traffic mobile app. Stelios also designed and implemented REST APIs for Shazam's mobile applications, website, and internal tools in a scalable microservices architecture.

Prior to Shazam, Stelios worked as a Software Engineer at Playfish from December 2011 to May 2013. Stelios started their career at IBM Hursley Laboratories in November 2007 and worked there as a Software Engineer until December 2011.

Stelios Modes completed an MSc in Advanced Computer Science at The University of Manchester from 2006 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, where they studied from 2001 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Stelios obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed various online courses on Coursera, including "Deep Learning Specialization," "Sequence Models," "Convolutional Neural Networks," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning." Stelios holds the ISTQB-ISEB Certified Tester Foundation Level certification from the Information Systems Examinations Board (ISEB / BCS), as well as the Red Hat Certified Technician - RHCT certification from Red Hat Inc.
