Des Cook

Des Cook is a professional engineer with extensive experience in the defence and aviation sectors, specializing in safety management and risk-based decision making. Cook has held numerous leadership and technical management roles, including Chief Air Engineer for the UK Typhoon Force, where a Just Culture was implemented to enhance human factors and error management. Now focused on optimizing safety management across high-consequence industries, Cook provides risk analysis and compliance assurance, supporting Whole Force defence enterprises and TICC sectors. As a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of The Royal Aeronautical Society, Cook actively contributes to the aerospace industry through various committees and strategic initiatives.
