Michael Vrettos

Michael Vrettos is a seasoned professional in the field of cyber security, currently serving as a Marine Cyber Security Expert at RINA since October 2021. Prior to this role, Michael was involved in EU projects on cyber defense technology at the European Defence Agency from February 2020 to October 2021. Michael has extensive experience with the Hellenic Air Force (HAF), where notable positions included Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) from August 2013 to February 2020, Section Head for Information Systems (Intelligence) from June 2003 to June 2010, and Air Force Officer - System Administrator from 1998 to 2003. Additional experience includes working with NATO's Information Systems related to geospatial data from July 2010 to July 2013. Michael holds an MSc in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics from Edinburgh Napier University, an MSc in European and International Studies from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, and a Bachelor of Science in Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology from the Greek Air Force Academy.
