Alan Tomsett

Alan Tomsett is a Technical Manager at Rio Tinto Pacific Operations, bringing over 25 years of experience in the Aluminium industry. They have previously held various technical roles at Comalco, Rio Tinto, and Pacific Aluminium, including positions as Technical Director and Carbon Manager. Alan has contributed to research on catalyst development at Kyoto University and has served as a regular presenter at the Australasian Smelting Conference. Additionally, they have taken significant roles in The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), including co-editing "Essential Readings in Light Metals." Alan earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering from the University of New South Wales.
