Joe Chen

Joe Chen is a Senior Project Geoscientist at Rio Tinto with 19 years of experience in Greenfield and Brownfield exploration. They previously held positions as an Exploration/HSE Manager at Zhenyuan Minerals Development Ltd. and Project Manager at Chinalco Rio Tinto Exploration. Joe also worked as a Project Geologist at Continental Minerals Corp., where they contributed to two major discoveries and received the Explorer of the Year Award at China Mining 2007. They earned a Master’s degree in Mineralogy, Petrology and Mineral Deposits from Chengdu University of Technology.
