Mel Morcom has extensive experience in reliability engineering, currently holding the position of Superintendent Reliability Engineering at Rio Tinto since November 2012. Prior roles at Rio Tinto include Senior Engineer and Project Engineer, contributing to significant projects like the Cape Lambert Port B Ship Loading circuits aimed at increasing throughput. Prior to this, Mel served as a Project Engineer at Corex Plastics (Australia) from 2009 to October 2012. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Materials Engineering, along with a Bachelor of Materials Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Physics, all obtained from Monash University between 2003 and 2008.
