Tom Bos is the Principal Advisor - GIS at Rio Tinto, where they partner with business leaders to integrate geospatial intelligence into mining strategies for responsible operations. They possess extensive expertise in multi-sensor remote sensing, eco-hydrological modeling, and advanced spatial statistics. Tom is pursuing a PhD at the University of Queensland’s Sustainable Minerals Institute, focused on developing an environmental digital twin for mine sites using AI/ML and spatial analytics. Previously, Tom has managed GIS programs for large-scale infrastructure projects at Strukton Rail and SRE Milieudienst, among others. Tom enjoys mountain biking on Western Australia’s trails in their leisure time.
