RioBotz - Pioneers in Combat Robotics and Technological Innovation

Founded in 2003 at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), RioBotz is the world’s most awarded combat robotics team, with over 200 titles, including more than 110 gold medals. Under the guidance of Professor Marco Antônio Meggiolaro, PhD from MIT, the team has excelled in international competitions, participating in tournaments across 6 countries. We are recognized as the number one team in Brazil and the most decorated worldwide in robot combat.

We are the creators of the legendary Minotaur, which won the Most Destructive Robot award at BattleBots 2016, and we were the first Latin American team to compete in the tournament. Additionally, we hold the record as the most successful team in RoboGames, the largest robotics competition in the world.

Beyond combat robotics, our research team develops innovative solutions for the medical, military, and energy sectors, with a focus on designing, optimizing, and building high-performance mechanical structures, locomotion systems, and actuators.

Constant innovation, adaptability, and the pursuit of excellence are our guiding principles. We work together with ethics, creativity, and continuous learning. As a leading university team, RioBotz aims to be a global reference in robotics while preparing its members for the job market, excelling in technology and innovation.

We strive to represent Brazil as a leader in science and technology, always "Thinking Ahead."
