Joel Reiter

Joel Reiter has a strong background in engineering, with experience in various companies and roles. Joel is currently working at RipeLocker, LLC as the Senior Director of Engineering. Prior to this, Joel was a co-founder and principal/director of engineering at Ilmarinen LLC, where they oversaw the first flight of vehicles and provided leadership and technical contribution to the engineering team. Joel has also worked as an electro-mechanical engineering manager at Corsair Technical Services and as an electro-mechanical engineering manager at Vulcan Inc., where they led a team in the development of a low-cost and capable electric Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Joel has served as a principal electrical engineer at Pure Watercraft, a director of engineering at Sea-Bird Scientific, a research and development manager, an electrical engineering manager, and a senior electrical engineer within the same company. In the earlier stages of their career, Joel worked as a lead design engineer at CoCo Communications Corp. and as a research engineer at TraceDetect. Throughout their career, Joel has demonstrated expertise in various engineering fields and has contributed to the successful development and implementation of innovative products.

Joel Reiter has a strong educational background in engineering and mathematics. Joel pursued their higher education at the University of Washington, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the years 1993-1998. During the same period, Joel also completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Continuing their academic journey, they went on to earn a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Washington in the years 1998-2001.

In 2013-2014, Joel Reiter returned to the University of Washington and achieved a Professional Certificate of Engineering Leadership, further enhancing their skills and expertise in the field.
