Raphael van Hoffelen

Raphael Van Hoffelen is a seasoned software engineer specializing in applied machine learning, currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Rippling since October 2024. Previously, Raphael held the position of Engineering Lead at Granica from December 2022 to October 2024, where significant contributions included the leadership and development of a data-intensive SaaS platform. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Software Engineer and Data & AI Infrastructure Lead at Tempus Ex, where Raphael was a founding engineer and instrumental in creating a scalable event aggregator platform. Raphael also served as Head of Software at IQ Motion Control, designing all software products for the company. In addition to engineering expertise, Raphael has a notable background as a British International Men's Saber Fencer, achieving numerous accolades at the international level. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Robotics and Mechanical Engineering, respectively.
