David Bast

Lead Data Engineer at Riskonnect

David Bast has a strong background in data engineering and management. David is currently working as a Lead Data Engineer at Riskonnect, Inc. since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Specialist - Data Management at Riskonnect, Inc. from October 2018 to May 2022.

Before joining Riskonnect, Inc., David worked at Marsh ClearSight, starting as a Systems Consultant in March 2010. David then progressed to become a Solution Architect in October 2011 and later a Senior Solution Architect in October 2013. David remained in this role until May 2022.

David's earlier experience includes working at CS STARS as a Lead Programmer/Analyst from June 2002 to June 2005 and as a Software Developer II from July 2005 to July 2009.

David also worked at Corporate Systems as a Programmer/Analyst responsible for transactional data conversion processes from September 2000 to May 2002.

Prior to that, David worked at Corporate Systems/Reliance Special Operations Unit as a Programmer, where they were responsible for file builds and maintenance of data conversion COBOL programs from December 1997 to August 2000.

Before transitioning into the tech industry, they gained experience as a Programmer at AMARILLO WEB'b PAGES, where they created and maintained web pages using HTML 3.2 from September 1996 to September 1997.

In the early stages of their career, David worked as a Resident Wildlife Biologist at Harrison Interests Ltd. from August 1990 to August 1995. In this role, they managed daily operations on a 107,000-acre ranch, supervised seasonal employees, and conducted hunting operations.

David Bast attended Amarillo College from 1996 to 1997, where they obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Information Systems. Prior to that, they attended Texas Tech University from 1982 to 1987, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Wildlife Management.
