Ryan Welsh

Ryan Welsh serves as the Vice President of Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, a position held since March 2014, with prior roles in the organization including Vice President Legal Affairs and Director Legal Affairs. In this capacity, Ryan oversees global contract negotiations, advises on an array of legal and regulatory matters, manages corporate records, ensures compliance with licensing requirements, and resolves customer disputes. Prior experience includes practicing as a Lawyer at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, focusing on corporate finance, governance issues, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as serving as an Articling Student at the same firm. Ryan holds a Certified In-House Counsel designation from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from The University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from Simon Fraser University.
