Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith is an experienced finance and operational leader with a strong background in implementing ERP systems, particularly Oracle and SAP. Currently serving as Oracle Chapter Lead at Riverside since June 2025, Matthew drives the implementation of Oracle ERP and optimises Oracle HCM. Previously, as Associate Director of People & Finance Systems Transformation at London Metropolitan University, Matthew oversaw the complete delivery lifecycle for various Oracle Fusion modules, enhancing digital automation across the institution. Other significant roles include Programme Director for SAP Finance optimisation at De Montfort University, where Matthew led finance projects and developed reporting structures, and Senior Manager of Financial Operations at Housing New Zealand Corporation. Matthew's extensive experience also encompasses financial consulting at Auckland Council, and directorial positions at Erasmus Limited and Howard Holdings Plc. Matthew holds an Executive MBA from Leicester Castle Business School and an Associateship in Accountancy from Sheffield Hallam University.
