Nico Sergent has extensive experience in powertrain design and development. Nico worked at Riversimple from 2017, where they served as the Head of Powertrain, responsible for overseeing powertrain activities for the design and delivery of Riversimple Rasa Beta vehicles. Before that, Nico worked at Riversimple from 2009 to 2015 as a Powertrain Architect and a Powertrain Integration Engineer. During their time at Riversimple, they were involved in the design and development of hydrogen fuel cell powertrains, as well as the integration and commissioning of the powertrain for Riversimple's technology demonstrator. Prior to their work at Riversimple, Nico worked as a Systems and Control Engineer at their own company, Nico Sergent, from 2015 to 2017. Nico also gained experience as a PhD Researcher at Williams Racing from 2006 to 2009, where they focused on FEA modelling of F1 brake pad/disc contact interface and wear. Overall, Nico Sergent has a strong background in powertrain systems and control engineering, with a particular emphasis on hydrogen fuel cell technology.
Nico Sergent has a strong educational background in engineering and motorsports. Nico started their education journey in 2003 at Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, where they pursued a Master's degree. Nico then continued their studies at Cranfield University from 2004 to 2005, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree. Nico further devoted himself to academic excellence by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Motorsport Engineering at Cranfield University from 2006 to 2009.
