Abdullah Alshwer

Abdullah Alshwer, PhD, CFA has a diverse and extensive work experience. Abdullah is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Riyad Capital since May 2023. Prior to this, they served as the MD & CEO at Ashmore Investment from September 2017 to April 2023. In addition, they have held leadership positions such as Vice President at CFA Society Saudi Arabia from July 2016 to June 2018, Chairman of the Advisory Committee at Capital Market Authority from February 2017 to February 2018, and Secretary General & CEO at Higher Education Fund from January 2016 to September 2017. Dr. Alshwer also has academic experience as an Assistant Professor of Finance at King Saud University from July 2012 to September 2017 and as a Lecturer & PhD Candidate at the University of Wisconsin (Lubar School of Business) from 2006 to July 2012. Abdullah has further served as an Investment Strategist & Consultant for two endowment funds, and as an Adviser to the Minister for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia.
