Brian Layer began their career in 1982 as a Soldier in the U.S. Army. In 2007, they became the Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command. From 2008 to 2013, they served as the Deputy Commanding General of the Army Sustainment Command and Commanding General of Fort Eustis and Commandant of the U.S. Army Transportation School. During this time, they were also a Founding Board Member of the Gordian Institute, the world's leading problem solving organization, and the Chair of the Organizational Development practice at N2growth. In 2016, they became the CEO and Chief Operating Officer of RL Leaders, where they focused on taking entertainment industry technologies and integrating them into stand alone national security solutions. In 2018, they became the Director of AmeriVet Securities, Inc.
Brian Layer has a diverse educational background. Brian obtained a BS in General Studies from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1982, an MBA in Logistics from Michigan State University in 1990, a Master of Military Art and Science from U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) in 1994, and a MA in National Resource Policy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in 2003.
