Justin Cates

Justin Cates is a Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience in designing mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for buildings. Currently employed at RMF Engineering, Inc. since June 2022, Justin previously held a similar position at McKnight Smith Ward Griffin Engineers from May 2019 to June 2022. With a foundational career that began as a Mechanical Designer at Cates Mechanical Corporation from May 2003 to February 2018, Justin oversaw various business operations including staff management, material ordering, and manufacturing processes. Justin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an Associate of Science in Pre-Engineering from Central Piedmont Community College. Currently pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
