Alan MacKinnon

Alan Mackinnon is an experienced professional with a diverse background in engineering, project management, and emergency services. Currently serving as Director at The Longhope Lifeboat Museum Trust and as a Crew Member with RNLI, Alan also contributes as a Retained Firefighter for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and operates Cantick Head Lighthouse Cottages. Previously, Alan held significant roles including Business Manager for Engineering Services at STS Defence Ltd, Project Manager, and UHF Satcomm System Engineer at Basys Technology Limited, and served in the Royal Navy as POWEA Communications System Engineer. Alan holds an MBA from the University of Portsmouth and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Technology from The Open University.
