Dave Blakesley

Dave Blakesley is the Engineering Lead at RNLI, where they are responsible for the design, management, and integration of multidisciplinary engineering functions to ensure the fleet is mission-ready. With extensive experience as a Naval Architect in both the defence, superyacht, and commercial sectors, they have led high-performing teams in developing innovative and reliable vessels. Dave’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Yacht & Powercraft Design from Southampton Solent University and postgraduate studies in Submarine Design & Acquisition at UCL. Prior to their current role at RNLI, they held various positions at QinetiQ, progressing from an intern to a Principal Naval Architect.
