Gareth Morrison has extensive experience in water safety and maritime operations, currently serving as the Head of Water Safety at RNLI since November 2000, where responsibilities include strategy development and the delivery of the RNLI Water Safety plan. Previous roles at RNLI include Lifesaving Manager and Regional Operations Manager, overseeing lifeboat and lifeguard services in East of England and Ireland, and Deputy Divisional Inspector, managing lifeboat services in Ireland. As a volunteer lifeboat crew member, Gareth also contributes to lifesaving efforts. Prior to RNLI, Gareth worked at bp from September 1996 to October 2005 as a Navigation Officer after completing a BP-sponsored cadetship. Educational qualifications include a Lean Silver Award in Continuous Improvement from Cardiff University and degrees in Maritime Studies from Warsash Maritime School and Glasgow College of Maritime Studies.
