Marcus D. has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries and roles. Marcus started their career as a Generalist Summer Intern at WEtech Alliance in 2017, where they promoted technology and assisted in startup incubation. Marcus also took on the responsibility of managing a CleanTech blog to increase STEM interest.

In 2020, Marcus co-founded a company called Pickle and served as a Co-Founder until 2023. During this time, they played a significant role in the company's development and growth.

In the same year, Marcus joined the Duke Investment Club as a Senior Analyst. Marcus actively participated in stock pitches and successfully pitched Westrock (WRK) based on fundamental valuation and other factors. Marcus also conducted research on Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 diversification plans and the current state of the Saudi Arabian economy.

Marcus interned at Follow and Atomic in 2022. At Follow, they wrote a substantial amount of production code and made significant contributions to the overall app design and functionality. Marcus also worked on implementing privileged user functionality in the backend.

During their internship at Atomic, Marcus built a contacts app using SwiftUI in MVVM architecture and implemented a Python-based backend with FastAPI and PostgreSQL. Marcus also gained experience working with container hosting on Heroku.

Currently, Marcus is working as a Software Engineer at RNWBL, starting in 2023.

In addition to their professional experience, Marcus has also worked as a Research Associate at the University of Windsor. Marcus conducted independent research projects in partnership with faculty members and showcased their work in international competitions.

Marcus D.'s education history includes attending Duke University from 2019 to 2023. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, an AB in Mathematics, and a minor in Finance. Prior to attending Duke University, Marcus completed their high school education at Academie Ste Cecile International School.

In addition to their formal education, Marcus has obtained several certifications. In August 2021, they completed the "Architecting with Google Compute Engine Specialization" from Google. In January 2021, they acquired the "Applied Cryptography Specialization" from the University of Colorado. Also in January 2021, Marcus completed the "Blockchain Business Models" certification from Duke University and Coursera. In December 2020, they obtained certifications in "Computer Networking" from Google, "Deep Learning Specialization" from deeplearning.ai, and "Software Processes and Agile Practices" from the University of Alberta. In August 2020, Marcus completed the "Bloomberg Market Concepts" certification from Bloomberg LP. Furthermore, in May 2020, they finished the "Introduction to Machine Learning" certification from Duke University and Coursera. Lastly, Marcus obtained the "Investor Training Program (ITP) Certification" from the Duke Investment Club in November 2019.
