John Hartevelt

John Hartevelt is the Interim Head of Content at RNZ and has a robust background in journalism and content management. They previously served as Projects Director at Stuff from 2014 to 2022, overseeing a team of designers and reporters, as well as directing major projects across various media platforms. John also held the position of Public Policy Journalist at Research Fortnight and had an impactful tenure at Fairfax Media as a Senior Political Reporter, where they reported on significant political events, including the 2012 US Presidential election. They earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History from the University of Otago and a Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the University of Canterbury.
