John Howe

John Howe is an accomplished scientist with extensive management experience in biotech and small molecule drug discovery and development. Currently, they lead an anti-bacterial project focused on discovering antibiotics against drug-resistant bacteria. Their previous work included developing antivirals for HIV and HCV while holding positions as Principal Scientist and Senior Principal Scientist at Merck and Schering-Plough Research Institute. In addition, they served as a Scientific Advisor at Ro5 and have contributed significantly to cancer gene therapy and cell cycle research throughout their career. John earned a Ph.D. in Biology from McMaster University and completed post-doctoral studies in Cellular and Molecular Biology at UC San Diego.
