Mitchell Weiss

Mitchell Weiss is a strategic advisor at RoadBotics and a professor of management practice at Harvard Business School. Mitchell has also served as the chief of staff for the City of Boston and as the executive director of The Tobin Project.

Weiss began their career as an associate at Merrill Lynch. Mitchell then spent four years as the chief of staff for the City of Boston, where they helped deliver on Mayor Menino's "shared innovation" agenda. During their time with the city, Weiss championed Boston's Innovation District as a regional platform for entrepreneurship and economic growth. Mitchell also shaped New Urban Mechanics, Boston's municipal innovation strategy, and conceived of BostonX, Boston's MOOC pilot with edx, Harvard, and MIT. In addition, Weiss contributed to Boston's educational reform agenda, including its District-Charter compact.

After their time with the City of Boston, Weiss became the executive director of The Tobin Project, which they helped grow into a catalyst for transformative research in the social sciences. The Tobin Project went on to win the 2013 MacArthur Award for Creative & Effective Institutions.

Weiss is now a strategic advisor at RoadBotics, where they are helping the company develop its technology to revolutionize the way road infrastructure is inspected and maintained.

Mitchell Weiss attended Harvard Business School from 2002 to 2004, where they earned their MBA. Prior to that, they attended Harvard College from 1995 to 1999, where they studied economics.
