Machine Learning Engineer at Roadie

Theo Walker has worked as a Machine Learning Engineer for Roadie since 2022. Prior to this, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Pindrop from 2016 to 2022, where they developed software that used machine learning on audio and metadata to detect fraud on over 1 billion phone calls. Theo was responsible for the machine learning pipelines for audio and metadata, from data/ETL through delivering Dockerized prediction microservices. From 2011 to 2016, they were a Research Software Engineer at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience, where they wrote image data analysis tools, including an interactive cell segmentation tool. From 2008 to 2011, they were a Research Software Engineer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they developed Chembench, a machine learning application for predicting drug activity and toxicity.

Theo Walker obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2006 and a Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology from the same institution in 2006. Theo then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011. In 2021, Theo obtained the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Theo is also currently working towards a Deep Learning Specialization certification from Coursera, which they expect to obtain in November 2022.
