Jack Duvall

Jack Duvall has a diverse work experience in software engineering. Jack started their career as a Software Engineer Intern at Yext in 2018, where they gained experience in web development and resolving issues for client websites. In 2020, they worked as a Software Implementation & Integration Virtual Intern at The Aerospace Corporation, where they collaborated with other interns and software engineers on various projects. Here, they explored containerization technologies, simulation techniques, and deep learning for computer vision and created technical reports for customers.

In 2021, Jack interned at Facebook as a Software Engineer Intern, where they worked on an internal continuous deployment tool and learned about reliability engineering, query optimization, and unit testing best practices. Jack also gained experience in diff review, oncall responsibilities, project planning, and collaboration across different teams.

In 2022, they joined Meta (formerly Facebook) as a Software Engineering Intern. In this role, they conducted a thorough investigation of the Facebook iOS app internals and implemented prefetching and performance optimizations for a high-priority navigation flow. Jack ran A/B tests in production to measure the impact of these optimizations and was part of the Community App Health Engineering team.

Currently, Jack is employed at Roam as a Software Engineer, starting in 2023.

Jack Duvall attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology from 2015 to 2019. After completing high school, Jack went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University from 2019 to 2023, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
