Mike Chen

Mike Chen has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Mike is currently the Head of Alternative Alpha Research at Robeco, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, they served as a member of the FDP Advisory Board and FDP Exam Working Group at CAIA Association starting in June 2019. From May 2016 to March 2022, they were the Head of Sustainable Investments at PanAgora Asset Management, where they managed global and international portfolios and conducted research on ESG, machine learning/alternative data, and China A shares. Before that, Mike worked at BlackRock as a Portfolio Manager from March 2013 to April 2016. Mike also had experience at Google as a Senior Capital Markets Analyst from February 2011 to March 2013, and at Morgan Stanley as an Interest Rate Derivatives Trader from June 2005 to January 2011.

Mike Chen has a strong educational background in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Mike obtained a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to that, they earned two Master's degrees from the same institution, one in Mathematics and another in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Mike Chen has also pursued additional certifications. In March 2019, they obtained a certification in "Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning" from Coursera Course Certificates. Mike had previously completed a course in Machine Learning, also from Coursera, in November 2016, for which they received a certificate.
