Ron Roelen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ron began their career as a translator at BSO in 1980 and later worked as an editor at the Ministry of Finance. In 1990, they became a journalist at HDC/Telegraaf Group and then moved on to NIBE-SVV as an editor. In 1994, they joined Fontys Hogescholen as an exam specialist on banking. From 2000 to 2005, they worked at Lanschot Bankiers as a senior editor. Ron then held positions as an editor at Wolters Kluwer and an editor and copywriter at Nederlandse Beroepsorganisatie van Accountants. Most recently, they worked as an investment writer at Robeco, starting in 2008.
Ron Roelen obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English literature and linguistics from Leiden University between 1976 and 1981. Prior to that, they attended Christelijk Lyceum in Alphen aan den Rijn, where they completed their high school diploma in gymnasium A from 1972 to 1976. Ron initially began their secondary education at Boschveld College Venray in 1970, majoring in English Language and Literature/Letters, but did not acquire a degree as they transferred to another gymnasium after two years.
