Jeffrey Lyford

Jeffrey Lyford has a strong background in scientific research and engineering, with extensive experience in the biotechnology industry. Jeffrey began their career as a Research Assistant at the Center for Marine Microbial Ecology & Diversity in 2008, where they maintained and created microbial cultures and prepared various media. In 2014, they joined Indigo as a Fellow, developing protocols for the formulation of bacterial products on seeds and assisting in isolating and cataloging bacterial and fungal strains. Jeffrey subsequently served as a Research Associate and Senior Research Associate at Indigo, gaining experience in high-throughput culturing, screening, and growth optimization, as well as field trial planning and execution, experimental design, and statistical analysis. In 2017, Lyford joined Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. as a Test Engineer, leading the deployment of scale-down fermentation models and high-throughput assays. Jeffrey then transitioned to Joyn Bio in 2018 as a Scientist, where they worked on various scientific projects. In 2022, Lyford returned to Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. as a Senior Ag Biologics Engineer I, before joining Robigo in 2023 as a Senior Scientist. Lyford's work experience demonstrates their expertise in scientific research, experimental design, and engineering within the biotechnology field.

Jeffrey Lyford earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree (B.Sc.) in Microbiology, General from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, from 2004 to 2008. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree (M.Sc.) in Microbiology, General at the same institution from 2010 to 2012.
