The RoboJackets is a group of Georgia Tech students, faculty, and alumni that aims to enhance the understanding of the field of robotics and its applications in depth of knowledge as well as to increase of the number of students exposed to it. We plan to carry out our mission through projects that correspond to the organization’s tenets of promotion, education and advancement.

We strive to be a multifaceted organization that allows students to experience various aspects of robotics. Both depth and breadth are encouraged as this allows the students to work more collaboratively in a group environment as well as have the abilities to pursue projects on their own. Hence our mission is effectively three-fold.

Mission
Promotion:
Through presentation of the existing uses of robotics in both industry and the home, the areas of current research and the possibilities for further application we hope to show the practicality and versatility of the robotics applications as well as the viability of the pursuit of education and careers in its development.

Education:
Through training workshops, competitive robotics, and student designed experimentation, the RoboJackets encourage the application and integration of concepts learned in their regular coursework as well as the understanding of how other disciplines contribute to the success of a project.

Advancement:
Through development projects and student experimentation, the RoboJackets hope to expand both our organizational knowledge base, as well as that of the students involved and the robotics community.

This department focuses on developing, programming, and engineering software solutions.

Software Development

The Mechanical Engineering team at RoboJackets focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems and components for various robotics projects. This includes tasks such as creating detailed CAD models, conducting stress and dynamics analyses, fabricating and assembling parts, and testing mechanical reliability and performance. The team works collaboratively to integrate mechanical systems with other engineering disciplines, ensuring that the robots are both functional and competitive in their respective competitions.

This department focuses on the design, development, and management of engineering solutions for robotic navigation systems.

RoboNav Engineering

The Software Development Team at RoboJackets focuses on designing and implementing software for various robotics projects, including Roboracing and Robocup. Their work involves programming, testing, and optimizing algorithms for autonomous vehicle navigation and robotic soccer. Team members collaborate to enhance the software aspects of these projects, contributing to the overall mission of promoting, educating, and advancing robotics knowledge and applications.

Software Development Team

The Electrical Engineering Team at RoboJackets focuses on designing, developing, and integrating the electronic systems and circuits that power and control our robotics projects. This includes everything from PCB design to firmware development, ensuring seamless communication between various subsystems. The team collaborates closely with other disciplines to enhance the overall functionality and efficiency of the robots, contributing to both educational and competitive endeavors.
