Carl Sutter has extensive experience in the technology industry. Carl began their career in 1985 as a Technical Analyst at Cornell University. Carl then moved to the University of Southern California in 1988, where they worked as a Technical Analyst, developing Microsoft Windows and NeXT software, consulting and training for faculty curricular projects. In 1996, they became the Director of Software Development at W3-design, Inc., leading the technical implementation of clients including Kaiser Permanente, AST Computers/AST Research, Wyle Electronics, Artist Direct/The Ultimate Band List, Universal Pictures, Fox Television, F/X cable, The Milliken Institute, and Entertainment Online. In 1997, they joined USWeb/CKS as an Associate Partner, Technology, leading the technical team for NBC.com. Carl then moved to marchFirst in 1999 as a Partner, Technology, managing a staff of 50 web software developers. In 2001, they co-founded CrownPeak Technology, bootstrapping for the first five years and attracting three rounds of VC funding. In 2018, they co-founded Greenfield Robotics, and in 2017 they became VP Product at Roborealm Robotic Vision Systems and Image Analysis, where they oversaw the vision pipeline and motion control.
Carl Sutter holds a BSEE from Cornell University in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, as well as an MSEE from the University of Southern California in Software Methods in Robotics.
