Grant McGowan is currently a research scientist in the enzyme engineering department at Roche Sequencing Solutions in Cape Town, where they have developed a range of technical and data analytical skills in the NGS field. Since joining Roche in 2022, Grant has thrived in a team-oriented, high-throughput research environment. Alongside their work, they are completing a Ph.D. thesis focused on elucidating transcriptional immune responses in plants, having previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Cape Town in 2012.
