Maximilian Kern

Maximilian Kern is an accomplished patent counsel with extensive experience in intellectual property law and biochemistry. From October 2019 to September 2024, Maximilian served as both Patent Counsel and Senior Patent Counsel at Roche. Prior to this role, experience includes positions as a Patentassessor and a trainee at VOSSIUS & PARTNER in 2018, a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry from 2009 to 2013, and a Junior Patent and Licensing Manager at Max-Planck-Innovation GmbH from 2013 to 2015. Maximilian completed German Patent Attorney training at the German Patent and Trademark Office & German Federal Patent Court in 2018. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science (MSc) in Biochemistry from Technische Universität München, a Doctorate in Biology from Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, and a legal qualification for patent attorneys from FernUniversität in Hagen.
