Raphael Ullmann is a senior scientist and product owner in the Speech division at Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED), currently leading data analysis and capability development around speech-based biomarkers. Previously, Raphael served as a senior scientist and applied research engineer at SwissQual AG, contributing to the development of the POLQA algorithm, which established a new standard for voice quality testing. Raphael obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where they developed algorithms for noise perception and speech intelligibility, earning a best student paper award at the Interspeech conference.
