Simone Fouché

Simone Fouché is a Principal Scientist I in Sequencing Assay Development, with over ten years of experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS). They have worked across various technologies such as long-read sequencing, linked-read sequencing, and short-read data, and have focused on diverse organisms, including fungi, plants, and vertebrates. Simone's academic journey includes a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich, where they studied genome evolution in fungal pathogens, along with multiple postdoctoral roles that deepened their expertise in genome architecture and structural variation. Currently at Roche, Simone aims to bridge the gap between fundamental and applied science to develop innovative sequencing technologies.
