Tal Shmaya

Tal Shmaya is a Principal Bioinformatics Software Engineer at Roche, where they apply their expertise in bioinformatics to advance genomic research. They previously held the role of Senior Bioinformatician at Natera and Bioinformatics Software Engineer at Illumina, contributing significantly to the field through the development of efficient NGS pipelines and data analysis tools. Earlier, Tal was a Bioinformatics Graduate Student at San Diego State University, where they created a genome-wide association study tool and constructed pipelines for analyzing genetic data. They hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from the University of California, San Diego, and San Diego State University, respectively.
