Wesley Williams

Wesley Williams has extensive experience in bioinformatics and biotechnology, currently serving as a BioAI Research professional at InstaDeep Ltd since December 2022, focusing on developing deep learning methods for de novo peptide sequencing. Prior to this role, Wesley was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the South African National Bioinformatics Institute from January 2017 to December 2022, where research included deep learning for protein prediction and participation in the Aspalathus linearis genome project. Wesley's academic background includes a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of the Western Cape, complemented by a Master's degree in the same field, alongside additional qualifications in Biochemistry. Earlier experience includes work as a Microbiology Test Officer at the South African Bureau of Standards, where Wesley developed PCR methods for detecting foodborne pathogens.
