CEO Dan Katcher founded Rocket Farm Studios in December 2008 to help companies capitalize on the exploding market of smartphone applications. With over 40 apps launched for a range of companies from venture-backed startups to global 500 firms, Rocket Farm seeks to be an innovation partner for both mobile and cloud technologies. Prior to creating Rocket Farm, Dan worked for Quattro Wireless, where he led the team that built some of mobile’s largest sites, including NFL.com, cbsnews.com, adage.com, and tmz.com.Previously, Dan was the Chief Technology Officer of I’m In, a cutting-edge social networking site focused on group travel, and the CTO of Netspoke, a leading provider of integrated web and audio conferencing.
At Netspoke, Dan oversaw technology strategy and overall product and enterprise architecture. Netspoke, an early pioneer in SAAS apps for
audio/web conferencing was recognized as an Inc. 500 company two years in a row and was acquired by Premiere Global Services (NYSE: PGI) in 2005. Over the course of his career, Dan has been part of the founding technology teams for Imidio (acquired by Sitescape/Novell), WatchPoint Media (acquired by GoldPocket/Tanberg), and Viant Corporation (IPO). He also led software development for Eastman Kodak Corporation’s PictureMaker, which generated over $130 million in revenue annually. Dan earned his Ph.D. and master’s degrees in computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and graduated Summa Cum Laude in electrical engineering and computer science from Tufts University. He has authored more than 10 publications and is a co-inventor of 5 patents.
